happy Micah 6:8 day (skip this one mom)

Four years, the words moved around in my head and around my body. Bicep? Shoulder blade? Along the curve of my ribcage? Then, last year, 2 February, they landed on the inside of my left arm. It was a graduation gift to myself. A most favorite verse from the Scriptures. A reminder of how I wish to live.

Walking with steps which seek justice, love compassionately and love strong, while doing my best to keep those steps with my God.

The Message translates the Hebrew this way:
But he's already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It's quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
and don't take yourself too seriously -
take God seriously.

And The New Living Translation like this:
No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good,
and this is what he requires of you:
to do what is right, to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God.
